Kings Dominion and Carowinds: what one 2027 Gold Pass covers

A 2027 Gold Pass bought from Kings Dominion or Carowinds includes admission to both parks, provided you first use it at the park that issued it. For someone splitting next year’s visits between the two, that removes the need to buy a separate pass for each park.

The Kings Dominion and Carowinds product pages both include the other park in Gold’s East-region access. Both advertise visits for the rest of 2026 and all of 2027. Prestige extends admission to the broader Six Flags list and adds benefits, but buying it does not make every meal plan work at every park.

Here is how the listed passes compare for visits to Kings Dominion and Carowinds:

The included Prestige drink plan requires 15 minutes between refills and does not include the souvenir bottle. For wider trips, use the 2027 park list in Six Flags’ pass FAQs. Dorney Park and Six Flags Great Adventure are also in the East region; Cedar Point and Kings Island are in the Midwest region.

Start at the park that issued the pass

Both parks’ footnotes require a home-park visit before using the pass elsewhere. Buying through Kings Dominion and heading straight to Carowinds would skip that required first use.

The home park also matters for extras. The FAQs limit Pass Perks and short-term incentive offers to the issuing park, while ordinary pass benefits can vary by location. An admission benefit that travels does not establish that a renewal bonus travels with it.

Meal plans have their own boundaries

Six Flags’ 2027 dining FAQs list Dining Access with 20 meals and Dining Plus with 30 meals at the home park complex. That restriction applies to Gold and Prestige holders. A Kings Dominion Gold Pass can therefore admit its holder to Carowinds while the holder’s Dining Plus meals remain usable only at the home park.

Dining Unlimited offers meal redemption across Six Flags parks in North America. Park admission still needs to be covered separately. The 2027 dining plans require two hours between eligible meal redemptions.

Early use matters too. If you do not have an existing 2026 dining plan, meals used from a new Access or Plus plan this fall reduce that same 20- or 30-meal allowance. It does not reset in January 2027. Holders of an existing 2026 dining plan continue using that plan under its 2026 rules for the rest of this season.
